There is nothing better than making & enjoying your bread, and if you’re looking for your first bread maker (or possibly require an upgrade), we have a review of an ideal bread maker for this situation.
We’re talking about Cuisinart CBK-100 Bread Maker, which is a high-quality bread maker that comes from a reputable company and yet it’s very affordable.
Considering the price it costs, this bread maker offers a lot of value – and in the rest of this article, find out how Cuisinart CBK-100 can make a great addition to your kitchen and even surprise you with a smell of fresh bread in the morning.
Highlighted Features
CBK-100 is a very quality bread maker and its quality can be seen throughout the design, features, ease of use, and even in the finished product itself – the delicious bread.
Therefore, let’s get started as I show you some of the best features so you can know exactly what to expect and whether this bread maker could make a great fit for your kitchen.
Pre-Programmed Menu Options
If you’re a beginner, you’ll love these options that bring so much simplicity to the bread baking process. And if you’re already an experienced bread baker – you’ll be glad to have these options available.
I’m talking here about the pre-programmed options that come in the form of a menu that allows you to quickly select a bread type.
There are 12 options and you can choose anything from a basic/white bread to packet mix or jam.
These options include:
- Basic/White
- French or Italian
- Whole Wheat
- Sweet
- Gluten-Free
- Packet Mix
- Cake
- Dough
- Pasta Dough
- Jam
- Bake-Only Mode
I’ve noticed that these options are really ideal for people who require gluten-free bread. Most of those people started baking their own bread just to be sure their bread is gluten-free – and with a bread maker such as Cuisinart CBK-100, they get exactly what they’re looking for.
Crust Colors & Loaf Sizes
Not only you have a chance to choose between almost any bread type (you can literally follow any bread recipe), but you also get to personalize the bread to your liking.
And even though bread maker is considered to be an entry model – it’s equipped with really cool features such as the crust color selector.
You can choose between 3 different crust colors which are:
- Light
- Medium
- Dark
What else you can choose is the loaf size that ranges anywhere between 1 lb and 2 lb. If you’re a single professional – you will be able to make just enough bread for your own personal needs.
But if you have to serve breakfast to a very hungry family in the morning, a 2 lb loaf is almost always enough.
Stainless Steel Design
The first thing you notice on this bread maker, even before the features and all the useful stuff, you notice the design.
CBK-100 bread maker isn’t very bulky but it’s there’s no doubt that it’s the smallest kitchen appliance you’ll have. While you’ll need a bit of space to have this bread maker on your kitchen’s countertop – the great news is that stainless steel design will fit into any kitchen interior.
This way, Cuisinart didn’t only showcase their modern & convenient design, but they also showcased the quality choice of material. Therefore, you can only expect to get a highly durable and long-lasting bread maker.
My favorite thing about design are the small touches that you otherwise don’t expect to see in entry-level bread makers. For example, along with the stainless steel finish, you could also notice the black linings that go all the way around the corners.
Convenient Viewing Window
Who doesn’t like to keep an eye on the process, right? Especially if you’re making your own bread!
I am one of those people and I must admit I love the viewing window featured on this bread maker. It’s decently sized so you can have a great peek at all times, and yet it never gets blurry throughout any stage of the baking process.
What surprised me was the ability to completely remove the lid which makes cleaning and maintenance a lot simpler. These are just some of the tiny little details that significantly increase the value of this entry-level bread maker.
Another very useful & convenient feature is stay-cool handles that never get hot, no matter at what temperatures you bake your bread and for how long you’ve been baking the bread for.
Pause the Baking
Don’t you hate when you’re cooking or baking and you urgently need to leave your home? None of us do – but when it happens, Cuisinart CBK-100 bread maker will have you covered.
That’s right.
This bread maker features one of the most convenient features you can get in a bread maker that allows you to pause the baking cycle.
You won’t appreciate this feature until you need it – but once you do use it for the first time, you’ll never want to use a bread maker without this feature.
The good news is this bread maker has it, and it even has a power failure backup so in case your electricity cuts off – your bread maker will always know where to resume without starting the baking cycle all over again.
13-Hour Delay Start
Did you ever wake up to a smell of a fresh bread loaf in the morning? If you haven’t, you should do it!
That’s where a 13-hour delay start feature comes in place. It’s a feature that allows you to place the ingredients inside the pan and delay the start-up to 13 hours.
All you have to do is calculate the time you go to bed and the time you’ll wake up and set the timer correctly. The result? When you wake up, your bread will be ready for breakfast.
Amazon Rating
Cuisinart CBK-100 bread maker has a rating of 4.2/5.0 stars on over 2,268 customer reviews on Amazon. It’s also eligible for Amazon Prime where you can have this bread maker delivered to your door tomorrow!
Conclusion
Considering the price of CBK-100 bread maker, it’s clearly easy to see how value exceeds the price point.
Cuisinart is a very reliable and quality manufacturer who has been producing different lines of bread makers – and every one of them has always been a great buy.
Whether you’re looking for your first bread maker or you’re looking to make an upgrade – Cuisinart CBK-100 is a great bread maker that won’t disappoint you!

We have the cbk-200 for over a year and can’t seem to get the bread to rise correctly. It only comes up to about 1/2 in from the top of pan then falls during cooking. Tried everything. What do you suggest. Discouraged from Tulsa oklahoma
Hi David,
It’s probably something in your recipe, maybe not enough baking powder? I’m not sure, but here is an article highlighting a few different bread machine recipes.

I really like the CBK-100 so I don’t think you need a new appliance, maybe just a tweak to your recipe or process.
