Who Is the Panasonic NN-SD372S 0.8 cu ft Microwave Oven For?
The Panasonic is NOT for people that want a big, spacious microwave.
So who was this microwave made for?
This Panasonic was made for anybody looking for a compact, affordable, feature-packed microwave oven.
Why so?
Well, for one, this microwave oven’s dimensions are only 14.81 x 19.2 x 11. Its interior dimensions are 13.87 x 12.37 x 8.12.
You see… Less space for electronics and more interior capacity.
This Panasonic is a 0.8 cubic foot in interior capacity. Yes, it’s small, but its power levels are high!
Also, this microwave is thinner and lighter than most microwave ovens.
What’s more, it’s one of the cheapest feature-packed microwave ovens out there.

Panasonic Microwave Features
At first glance, this Panasonic looks like any other microwave.
When you take a closer look though, you’ll find that it has the basic features, as well as a few unique ones.
Features such as:
- Controls
- Turbo Inverter Technology
- Keep warm
- Quick minute
- Delay start timer
- Compact power supply
- Child lock safety
Now that’s a lot.
Let’s take a look at them one by one.
Controls
The controls of a microwave oven allow us to set the preferred time and temperature, heat and defrost, choose from preset menu items, and a whole bunch of other things…
With the Panasonic NN-SD372S, you get a total of 12 controls.
Popcorn – there’s no need to search for a setting when it comes to popcorn. This control will set the time and temperature for the perfect popcorn.
Auto Reheat – this is designed for reheating food. It has a built-in sensor that turns off when it reaches ideal “reheating” temperatures. For more information, refer to the manual.
Auto Cook – This is similar to auto reheat except it’s for cooking food. Again, refer to the manual for more information.
Power Level – If you’re doing basic cooking, you can choose a power level. For example, cooking at 50% power is good for slow-cooked and braised food. 30% power for simmering, etc…
For the Inverter Turbo Defrost, Keep Warm, Quick Min, Timer/Clock controls, we’ll talk about those options separately.
Okay, let’s continue.
More/Less – This button is to increase or decrease the percentage of the power level.
Stop/Reset – This is pretty self-explanatory.
Start – Of course, this is what gets the microwave oven started when you’re ready to get cooking, reheating, defrosting…
Not only are there button controls, but there’s also a dial control. You’ll be able to set a specific time and temperature. And, the best part, you can push the dial in to hide it.
Check out this video showing you these controls:
Turbo Inverter Technology
This Panasonic stands out from other microwave ovens because of its Panasonic Inverter Technology.
You might be thinking, “What the heck is that?”
Allow me to explain.
Microwave ovens usually only have 1 cooking setting, even if it offers a different level feature. So, for example, if you select 50% cooking power, you’re actually still getting 100% power.
How this works is, that the microwave slowly injects the full strength at various levels throughout the heating time. The results can lead to uneven heating, which produces “cold spots”, burnt edges, etc…
However, Turbo Inverter Technology can hold many cooking settings. Meaning, 50% power is really 50% power, resulting in consistent heat throughout.
This feature also allows the Panasonic NN-SD372S microwave to COOK food, not just reheat it. And, since it has an Inverter Turbo Defrost, you can defrost food evenly as well.
Keep Warm
This is a feature that all Panasonic NN-SD372S microwave users love.
If you can’t eat or drink what you’ve “microwaved” right away, it’ll keep it warm for you. You can set the keep warm for as long as 30 minutes!
I call that useful.
Quick Minute Setting
If you want to skip going through the seconds, the “Quick Minute” setting is your friend.
It becomes much faster to select minutes as one click = 1 minute. As for the dial, it controls seconds AND minutes.
So it gives you an option.
Delay Start Timer
Do you sometimes wish you could come home to dinner cooked/reheated and ready to eat?
Or what about waking up to warm toast in the morning?
Well, the “Timer/Clock” feature can grant that wish!
You can delay the start timer up to 1 hour and 30 minutes. For example, you can set the microwave oven to start cooking 1 hour or 5 minutes before you come home or wake up.
Does that sound like something you need? Then get the Panasonic NN-SD372S microwave!
Compact Power Supply
The 950-watts of cooking juice that the Panasonic NN-SD372S microwave has ensures quick and efficient cooking/reheating/defrosting.
That’s already an excellent baseline for microwaves.
Not only that, but it’s also a compact power supply. This is why this microwave oven is smaller (but with a good capacity) and lighter.
It may not have the square inches of cooking space for your meal that others have, but what it lacks in size it will give back in its energy specs.
Child Lock Safety
It seems like children have a fascination with microwave ovens. They can’t keep their eyes off it and might even try to open it in the middle of heating.
Well, you can keep them safe with Panasonic’s child lock.
To activate, hit the start button 3 times. To unlock, press the “stop” button 3 times.
The Pros and Cons of Panasonic NN-SD372S
Like every microwave oven, the Panasonic NN-SD372S microwave comes with pros and cons.
In this section, we’ll review the “brilliants” that users love and the “not so good” that users complain about.
Pros
Besides its many features, the Panasonic NN-SD372S microwave has other benefits.
For one, users praise it as one of the quietest microwave ovens. You don’t need to worry about it being a noisy, rattle trap.
Not only that, but it also doesn’t slide around. An appliance that stays in place is always a plus.
Another thing that users love is its sleek and attractive exterior. I mean, you can’t go wrong with stainless steel, right. Not only is stainless steel attractive but it’s durable and simple to clean.
Rest assured it doesn’t look cheap and flimsy.
What’s more, it has a bright interior light that allows you and your children to watch the whole process.
950 watts of power means that you’ll have no problem cooking your food in this microwave. This means that cooking times will be greatly reduced for your foods.
Especially with its one-touch start button, cooking will never be easier.
The best part? You get all that for an affordable price!
You’ll hardly find a cheaper microwave oven that offers the same features and benefits as the Panasonic NN-SD372S.
No wonder this product from Panasonic is so popular today!
Cons
Of course, the Panasonic Microwave Oven NN-SD372S microwave is not perfect. It has its downsides as well.
Most complaints are directed at its tricky programming. You’ll have to refer to the manual on how to use the buttons, how they function, etc…
If you don’t memorize this, you’ll have to turn to the manual again and again, which can be a big inconvenience.
Others complain that there’s no keypad to dial in the minutes and seconds. Just imagine – constantly pressing a button (or turning the dial) can get quite irritating after a while.
Also, if you’re not directly in front of the buttons, you won’t be able to read the labels. I tell you, you won’t find it fun stooping down every time.
Stainless steel can often be a dividing feature. Some people love stainless steel, others hate it. Though the stainless steel adds to the beauty, it causes one downside…
It’s like a fingerprint magnet!
However, that shouldn’t be a problem if you regularly clean it.
Finally, as we mentioned earlier, the Panasonic NN-SD372S doesn’t have the best quality.
Now, what do all these downsides have in common?
They’re all minor inconveniences that don’t affect the main purpose of a microwave oven.
Is the Panasonic NN-SD372S For You?
With all that in mind, let’s get to the big question…
Is the Panasonic NN-SD372S for you?
Only YOU can answer that.
If you’re looking for the best compact, affordable, and feature-packed microwave oven, I’m not sure you’ll find anything better than the Panasonic NN-SD372S.
