When it comes to non-stick cookware, there are two main choices: Ceramic and Teflon.

Although the manufacturer’s instructions might say that it’s perfectly fine to use metal utensils on the nonstick surface of a Teflon pan or Ceramic Pan, I would say that it’s a bad idea!

It’s better to stick with plastic, wood, or silicone utensils.

At the end of the day, the idea of breathing in toxic chemicals and toxic fumes from Teflon coating is just not something that I’m ok with for me and my family.

Therefore, I’ve chosen to get rid of all of my nonstick pans that have Teflon coating and I’ve moved over to either stainless steel cookware or ceramic nonstick pans. PTFE coating on pots and pans is just not something that I want on my cookware sets.

I do have some cast iron cookware that I use every now and then, however, almost all of my cooking is done on ceramic non-stick pans.
